How does SHR hair removal work?
SHR technology is much like traditional IPL treatment but instead of delivering individual high-intensity shots to the treatment area, SHR scans the treatment zone—gradually heating the skin with repetitive lowfluence pulses until the hair follicle is destroyed, resulting in stunted hair regrowth or complete.
During laser hair removal, a laser emits a light that is absorbed by the pigment (melanin) in the hair. The light energy is converted to heat, which damages the tube-shaped sacs within the skin (hair follicles) that produce hairs.
What happens to hair after SHR?
Actively growing hairs that have been treated with SHR will not grow back. However, hair follicles that were not in the active growth phase, will still need to be treated. It is not unusual to see fine hairs after initial treatments after a few years due to hormonal changes such as menopause, pregnancy or aging.
